Pressing on
by Alexander Clare on 03/25/12
Welcome back, everyone! It's spring, and that means it's time to open the windows, clean out the crap, and get back to work. It's been a while since I've posted, but I have been kept quite busy! My latest big news, is the chalkboard auction I am hosting at Brew Works to sell off the chalkboards I have been accumulating over the past 6 months. Should be exciting, I've already generated a lot of interest! Keep checking the Brew Works site for more information!
I just added a DESIGN section to my portfolio, to show examples of some of the package design, billboard, and vinyl graphics I have done for Brew Works. I felt it was time to at least sort of acknowledge what I do from day to day. Here's a small sample.
I also added new images in the SKETCHES section, and have put in a couple new chalkboards in the SIGNAGE section. Please feel free to browse them and leave some comments!
Until next time!
Happy New Year!!!

Welcome to 2012! Looks like it should be just as interesting as the last year! I finished out the year by completing a mural at the Crayola Factory in Easton, PA. I painted the back side of a 40ft glass wall, called the 'Inside Out Wall,' turning the entire thing into a giant coloring book. It's a large, semi-circle tunnel, so it was hard to get a good picture of the whole thing. I'm told they will take one later on, but until then, here's what I've got:
I've also added a few more chalkboards, so go check them out in the signage section! As always, thanks for stopping by, and I look forward to keeping you updated throughout a brand new year! I'm headed off to a tattoo convention in D.C. this weekend to do some more Zombie Caricatures. Should be fun!
Until next time!

I'm proud to say that this site is not only finally complete, but has also experienced a major overhaul! At last, I have an about me page that isn't just a few boring paragraphs thrown into a text box!! Not only that, but every page actually has a heading now, and I've done away with that annoying and bitrate-consuming scroll bar at the top and replaced it with an illustration that I hope to continually replace every few months or so.
I have also added some new images to the sketches page. Nothing crazy, just updated work I've been doing at drink 'n' draw and figure drawing. Go check it out! Here's a sample:
Hope you enjoy the new layout as much as I do!
Happy December!!

Well, once again, it's been a while, but I've had a bunch of new developments! There are some new chalkboards in the signage section, and a new painting I put together for a show that closes tomorrow in Columbus, Ohio at Packrat comics. The show is devoted to a bunch of muppet-based artwork in honor of the new movie, done by a bunch of talented artists, many of whom I went to school with! I'm leaving for the reception tomorrow morning, and look forward to seeing what everyone came up with.
In the mean time, here's what I came up with:
It's just acrylic on canvas. If you're a fan of the muppets and Portal, the video game, then this makes perfect sense. Otherwise, it might just be pretty to look at, haha... But it's Bunsen and Beaker, and Beaker is about to shot at by a ton of turrets after falling through a portal. Fun!
On a related note, go see the Muppet Movie, it's amazing.
Back on Track and as Busy as Ever!

The Auction last month was a total success, and a lot of fun! My name was on the window! It's hard to make out in the picture above, but believe me, it's there! Everyone's pieces sold and I got to show off some old and new pieces including the debut of my first pinup piece, pictured here. You can view this and some new brewworks labels in the illustration section of my portfolio!
Also, please check out all the new chalkboards I've done for Brewworks in the signage section of my portfolio! Every single one of the boards has been replaced, and now they are all done by me! Here's just one, but the rest are in the signage section!
