I know it's been a while since my last update, as per usual, but I've been just crankin' out a bunch of stuff for Brew Works. And the best news is that I've finally started working a couple days a week in house at Crayola doing some freelance! It's a lot of fun, and it's excited to be working on so many different projects!
I guess the other big news is that I'm almost done with the flagship beer chalkboards for Allentown Brew Works, so they'll be up within a week's time. Also, I have another comic going into the lastest issue of Philly Beer Scene! and it's been confirmed that from this point on, I'll be switching off with another comic artist Chris Snee, who is very talented! Here's the comic:
I also finally finished building, installing and drawing the menu boards over at Burrito Works. You'll have to go there and check them out, but here's a quick look:
Thanks for checking in, see you in another few months!
As I said in the last post, I recently had some work displayed in an article from Lehigh Valley Live about how to spice up your wedding with creative themes. I did a couple pieces for their rockstar theme. Click the link to check them out and see the other creative ideas in the galleries!
Now, with the Lehigh Valley Beer Week coming up next week, I will have my art seen by hopefully thousands of people, as I'm responsible for the logo and all the graphics that have gone into marketing the event. On top of that, I'll be having my third chalkboard auction at the Bethlehem Brew Works on Tuesday, February 12th at 6 PM. If this auction is anything like the last two, it should be a good turnout!
I'll be auctioning off 10 of my boards this time, including my Belgian Brown, Devious, and CH-47. If you've never seen my chalkboards before, click here to head to my signage section. Hope to see you there!
Ok, I know. I haven't updated in a while. Does anybody read this anyways? Well to be honest, this blog is just to show people I'm still alive and have, in fact, been busy doing work.
But this time, I'm going to keep it brief as to attract attention. New Stuff: Couple new SIGNS, few pieces of ILLUSTRATION which finally showcase the coloring books I did, and some updates to the ABOUT ME page! I have a couple articles I was featured in recently...and by recently, I mean since my last update.
Finally, I will have a comic strip in the upcoming issue of Philly Beer Scene! It's the February/March issue. I've always wanted to do a comic strip and I'm so excited to finally have one done and in print! I would like to take it further, and I have a friend of mine, Ian Mondrick who is willing to help me write it. So we'll see! In the mean time, here it is:
Believe it or not, I will have an update VERY soon, as in the next day or two, since I'm going to be featured in another article for the Express Times for some fun rock-star wedding theme designs I put together.
Thanks for reading, see ya soon!
Hey there everyone! I know it's been another two months since my last update, but I've been busy! Where do I start?
Well, I submitted four designs to a t-shirt designing competition over at We Love Fine.com. It's a Star Trek themed competition, and if I get enough 5 star ratings on my designs, I can win the opportunity to have my shirts printed and sold on the site! So please, if you have a moment, head over HERE, and vote for my shirts! The voting starts on 9/25. They're under the name "Alexander." Thanks!
Here's the designs I submitted:
I was also recently involved in a retro video game art show at the Alternative Gallery in Allentown, PA. I did two new pieces for it, that you can find, along with the above designs over on my Illustration page. Here's my pic of Samus from Metroid:
Finally, I'm going to be featured in this Friday's Exposed Section of the Express Times. It's a weekly publication that talks all about the neat things going on around the area for the weekend. The article will focus on my label work for the Brew Works, and the other art I do around the valley. You can find it just about anywhere, so pick one up and check it out!
Well, that's all for this installment, I don't want this running on forever, I'd be impressed with anyone who actually made it this far. Until next time!
It has been too long, but for good reason. I have been so busy with random projects, brew works labels, and of course, the art wars, that I haven't had much time to sit and update this thing. So, I'll try to keep this brief.
I took third place in art wars this year! I know, I didn't win, which obviously would have been nice, but you can't win 'em all! What matters is, I had fun, and still managed to make it all the way to the final round, which, after winning last year, was all I really wanted. Didn't want to wash out in year two, you know? I don't have pictures of all four rounds yet, but here are the pieces I did for the "throwdown" (tryouts) and round 1.
This was the Throwdown. The Theme was "creation."
Round 1 - The them was "He said, She said." Sloppy and a little ambitious, I know, but I managed to move on!
I will post the others when I get better pics of them. The auction for all the pieces will be sometime in August, I imagine. No date has been set yet, but all the info is posted on the Art Wars facebook page.
Meanwhile, I've been working hard on coloring books for crayola! It has been a long, and tedious process, but it has also been my favorite freelance project ever! I basically am doing two 32 page activity sticker books. I've enjoyed it so much, and I really hope I get the opportunity to do more in the future!
I have completed the Pawn Shop Porter beer label, and again, when I have a good file of that, I'll post that up in Illustration.
So, keeping busy! and as usual, I will leave you with some of my new chalkboards. I have put six new ones up in my signage page, and I willl auction them, and any new ones I do, in the mug club auction at Bethlehem Brew Works at the beginning of september. So, here's a sample, just click on it, and check out the other boards!
Thanks again for coming by, see you next time!
